Earlier this month I was asked to be a guest on the ORGannon podcast, a production of the Ology Research Group, a nonprofit focused on addressing social issues.
CEO and Co-Founder Carl Letamendi asked one particularly insightful question: Why do people with chronic diseases sometimes not manage their own health? The reason I found this to be so interesting is because it gets at the crux of my work: helping people navigate the healthcare system and manage their healthcare. What I've found over the last 20 years of working in healthcare is that people want to help themselves, they just don't know how or do not have the resources to do so.
